Class- Basic Mittens

Learn to knit basic mittens using The World’s Simplest Mittens  

by Tin Can Knits. This class will also introduce the Magic Loop  

technique for knitting in the round.  

Prerequisites: The student must be able to cast on, knit, purl,  

and bind off.  

Skills Taught: Basic mitten construction, knitting in the round,  

and Magic Loop. 

Dates: Thursday, January 30, February 6 & 13 from 1 - 3 pm.

Cost: $90.00 

Materials: To be purchased at GarenHuis Yarn Studio. 

∙ Tin Can Knits World’s Simplest Mittens. 

∙ Worsted weight yarn. 

∙ 32 inch circular needle in size appropriate to meet a gauge of 20 stitches to an inch. 

Homework: Purchase supplies and do a gauge swatch to determine needle size for your  materials. The pattern is written for four different weights of yarn, the class is geared for  worsted weight. If you choose a fingering weight yarn you will not get as far on your  mitten in the allotted class time.
