Class - Continental Knitting Workshop
Knit faster with less stress!
Continental knitting is a method of knitting that requires the knitter to hold the working yarn in the left hand. Instead of wrapping the yarn around the needle with the right hand the knitter uses the right needle to catch the yarn and pull it through the loop on the left needle. The catching motion is sometimes referred to as picking. This method of knitting can be done very quickly because the knitter is working at the tips of her needles and the throwing motion of English knitting is eliminated. It is also convenient for two color knitting; one color can be picked and the other thrown.
