Ocean Drive Socks by Pip & Pin Collective

Ocean Drive Socks Pattern by Pip & Pin Collective combine art deco and socks with stripes. These scalloped stripes are created using slipped stitches (also known as mosaic knitting) and are reminiscent of the arches and curves found on buildings in the art deco mecca of Ocean Drive in Miami. The perfect pair of socks for use with a 5-colour mini skein set or to scrap bust those tiny bits of beautiful leftover yarn. Knit in the round from the cuff to the toe, available in three adult sizes, with full and condensed instructions included. These fun scalloped socks will fly off your needles in no time!

Gauge: 34 sts and 48 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch in the round, blocked

Finished Measurements: Finished sock circumference is 7 (8, 9)" / 18 (20, 23) cm, to be worked with approximately 1" / 2.5 cm negative ease.

Materials Used: This pattern uses five 20g mini skein of fingering weight yarn, which will be enough to knit any size. You will need approximately 20g for the heels, toes and cuffs, and about 10g for each of the other 4 colours. The yarns used in the sample are:

  • C1: Midknit Cravings Light Sock in Whiskers
  • C2: Midknit Cravings Light Sock in Grandpa's Gingersnaps

Needle Size: US 1 / 2.25 mm 9" circular knitting needles; or 32" circular knitting needles; or double pointed knitting needles for working small sock circumference in the round in your preferred method, or size to obtain gauge
